Beard and moustache transplant in Hyderabad

A beard or moustache transplant moves hair roots, usually from the back of the scalp, into the face to fill a thin, patchy or missing beard or moustache. How it is done

The procedure is done under local anaesthesia. Grafts are taken from the donor area, usually by FUE, and implanted one at a time into the face. Facial hair grows mostly as single hairs at a sharp angle, so the grafts are placed in the direction and at the angle of the natural beard to make it look natural.

Typically 500 grafts are needed for complete moustache, 800 grafts for moustache and chin, 2000 grafts both cheeks and side burns. It is always advised to undergo the procedure in steps rather than in a single go.

After the procedure

• Small crusts form around each graft on the face and fall off over 2 – 4 weeks.
• As with scalp transplants, most transplanted hairs shed in the first weeks and then grow back over the following months.
• Transplanted hair keeps behaving like the hair it came from, so it can be trimmed and shaved like the rest of the beard.
• Trimming the area can be done 2 weeks onwards and shaving can be started after 1 month.
