Background
Dr. Madhu is a dermatologist and dermatosurgeon by background. As new techniques in hair restoration developed around the world, he learned them from experienced hair restoration surgeons, and he has now dedicated himself entirely to hair restoration surgery, leaving dermatology and cosmetic dermatology to the associate dermatologists in his team.
He founded Dr. Madhu's Advanced Hair Transplant Centre in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, in 2005, and has 31 years of experience in hair restoration. His work includes designing hairlines that look like a natural hairline.
How Dr. Madhu works
- He has modified traditional stereo microscopes with latest lighting and magnifications to enhance precise graft dissection.
- He is first to own and use high end microscopes like Mantis microscope to sliver donor strips length wise under immersion, on sterilizable silica gel surface.
- When world was using wooden spatulas he has developed advanced grafts dissection and graft cutting surfaces that can be sterilised by autoclaving.
- He developed his own method of dissection; earlier he used the four-hook open method.
- For FUT, he closes the donor wound with a combination of trichophytic closure and triple-layered closure, to make the scar as fine as possible.
- For FUE, he uses power-assisted extraction with very small punches.
- He makes the slits for implantation with micro-blades, and uses ultra-refined follicular unit grafting (URFUG).
- He uses pain-minimising techniques throughout the procedure.
- He performs large sessions (mega, super mega and giga sessions) and long hair transplants.
