Micro-blades are very small, custom-made blades used to make the tiny slits into which grafts are placed. They make dense packing and natural-looking results possible.
Why custom blades are used
Ready-made blades and instruments are larger and make bigger slits, which do not allow dense packing. So very small micro-blades are made using special blade cutters, in sizes as small as 0.6, 0.7, 0.8 and 0.9 mm.
Placing refined follicular units into these micro-slits is the most skilled part of the work and takes a lot of practice.
